Project Description:
The EAP ENTERPRISE SURVEYS 2014 is a World Bank (WB) project aiming to study the business environment in Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. The surveys will use the benchmarking and analytical tools produced by the Enterprise Analysis Unit of the WB Group.
In addition to gathering data to provide cross-country business environment measures, the survey will include re-visiting previously interviewed establishments, whenever possible, which will allow the expansion of the panel data set. The panel data set allows researchers to track changes in the business environment, to measure the effect of these changes on firm performance over time and to assess the effects of reforms on the business environment.
With the participation of 13 key professional staffs and sub-contractors, MKE lead the following responsibilities:
· Identifying sample frames in accordance with World Bank outlined strategy and approval;
· Conducting the face-to-face interview with approximately 6,090 establishments of the sample frame;
· Providing to client a set of a cleaned database of all completed interviews in the STATA electronic database
· Presenting to client the spreadsheets containing sample control information for each country which was a second database including the location information of each interviewed establishment
· Preparing report, in English, on the data describing all codes, sampling biases introduced in the survey implementation and other pertinent information for researchers. The report covered observations/experiences arising from the survey and the methodology employed.
