Project Description:

This ADB project complemented existing projects, focusing on communicable diseases control (CDC), HIV/AIDS and malaria in one single intervention aimed at strengthening health security in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam by providing district and provincial health services capacity for diagnostic, response and treatment. The project focused on remote and underserved areas, with high poverty incidence, and on migrant and mobile populations (MMPs).

MKE Team developed country implementation plan/work program in coordination with the Team Leader; assessed the institutional capacity of the executing and implementing agencies, prepared project implementation arrangements, and prepared institutional and capacity strengthening programs; conducted field visits to investigate services situation and assess local needs; and prepared reports on activities and outputs as required.

The World Bank Group - Implementation of the EAP Enterprise Surveys (EAP ES 2014) - 2014

Project Description:

The EAP ENTERPRISE SURVEYS 2014 was a World Bank (WB) project aiming to study the business environment in Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Laos and Vietnam. With the participation of 13 key professional staffs and sub-contractors, MKE led the following responsibilities:

·        Identifying sample frames in accordance with World Bank outlined strategy and approval;

·        Conducting the face-to-face interview with approximately 6,090 establishments of the sample frame;

·        Providing to client a set of a cleaned database of all completed interviews in the STATA electronic database

·        Preparing report, in English, on the data describing all codes, sampling biases introduced in the survey implementation and other pertinent information for researchers.

MKE in consortium with ACE International Consultants S.L. undertook the evaluation to form the bases for possible adjustments, changes and recommendations for remaining program to promote gender equality in political participation. In particular, the evaluation aimed to assess the relevance, the coherence, and the cost-efficiency of the interventions, and the contribution of the program to gender and rights-based approaches, as well as to make recommendations regarding the further development and sustainability of the project.

ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) - Services Diagnostics and Need Assessment Study - 2011

Project Description:

Mke conducted a cross country study visiting each participating country in order to conduct field work and collate research. Consultants then synthesized all research done into a series of country reports which together made up the SDNAS. Apart from this, MKE organized the two ‘sandwich workshops’ in Hanoi and Jakarta. The project was a manifestation of the overall movement of ASEAN towards encouraging the development of service-based trade economies, as part of its general objective to promote economic growth through liberalization.

Austrade & NZTE - Research Paper on Development Opportunities in Cambodia and Laos - 2010

MKE conducted primary research and produced a report of practical use to Australian and New Zealand firms who work in development across a range of areas (including engineering, infrastructure design, governance, and vocational education and training) with the aim of increasing knowledge of and access to job opportunities in the development industry. The report was presented by MKE at the ‘Developing Cambodia 2010’ seminar hosted by Austrade and NZTE in Phnom Penh.
